Download Notes
(current version 5.12)

Unless you are an experienced SARApAid upgrade installer, please read all of the following notes prior to downloading and upgrading your software:

  • If you don't have a current SARApAid license, downloading and installing the following files will activate a DEMO version of the software.  There are a few features which aren't available on DEMO versions, and forms printed with a DEMO version will have "Sample" printed across the form, and are not acceptable for submission.

  • The following downloads will work only with Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows 11 (including 64-bit versions).

Notes for licensed users - Read before downloading!

Licensed users can upgrade free at any time (upgrades time stamped within 2 years of your license activation date) by using the Update Wizard available under the SARApAid Help menu item.  If you need to update your license file (you only need to do this if you want to upgrade your software to a version with a release date more than 2 years after your license date) see the Upgrade Order Form.

To do a manual installation of SARApAid (you should only have to do this if the Update Wizard isn't working for some reason if you have a licensed installation)...

  • Your license date (seen on the SARApAid opening screen) must read 26 Aug 2022 or later to activate the current version!  If it reads earlier than this, then this download will overwrite your licensed version and activate as a DEMO.  This process cannot be undone!

Download and Installation Notes

When you click on the file download link below, you should proceed as follows depending on your Windows version and browser (assumes that you have the latest upgrades installed for your Windows version and you are using Chrome, Edge, or Firefox).

Note:  It is highly recommended that you temporarily disable your anti-virus protection.  Otherwise your anti-virus program may insert additional dialogs, checks, and/or warnings due to false positive indications of issues with the software and it may preclude a successful install.  These false positives are triggered by the existence of API calls in the software which allow it to access the support web site for the purpose of showing web pages, downloading update and/or repair files, and initiating Help Request and Bug Report emails, all of which are described features of the program. Most anti-virus programs will allow you to turn them off for a pre-determined amount of time (i.e. 15 minutes) after which they will come back on automatically.

Windows 8, 10, and 11:

  • (Chrome) You will see an indication that the file is downloading at the upper right of your browser window.  When the download is finished, click the right-most icon in the dialog with the file name.
(Edge) You may see a message of either "saraa5xx.exe was blocked because it could harm your device." or "saraa5xx isn't commonly downloaded.  Make sure you trust saras5xx.exe before you open it." (click "see more").
Edge-Windows 11 - if you see a dialog containing "This app might harm your device" click "show more" then click "Keep anyway"; in Downloads dialog click the "Open file" link below the saraa5xx.exe item.
Edge-Windows 10 - if you see a dialog containing "Make sure you trust saraa5xx.exe before you open it" click on "Show More"; in the next dialog click on "Keep Anyway"; in Downloads dialog click the "Open file" link below the saraa5xx.exe item.
(Firefox) You will see a dialog asking "You have chosen to open: (file information).  Would you like to save this file?"  Click the Save File button.  Click the blue download arrow at the top right of the Firefox window.  Click on the box showing the name of the SARApAid file downloaded.
  • If you see a dialog stating "Windows protected your PC" with additional SmartScreen information, click the "More info" link; In the next dialog box click the Run anyway button.
  • If you see a dialog stating "Microsoft Defender Smartscreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting..." with no additional links provided, go to your Downloads folder, find the saraa###.exe file, right-click the filename and select Properties, at the bottom of the General tab click the Unblock box, click Apply, click OK, then double-click the saraa###.exe file to run the installer.
  • You should see a User Account Control window announcing "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?
    Click the Yes button.
  • The normal installation/upgrade process should begin at this point.

Note:  It is imperative that you reboot your system after installing on Windows 11 (earlier Windows versions didn't really seem to care) before attempting to run the software.  Not doing the reboot will result in a Run-time error: 339 as some of the support files will not yet have been properly registered in Windows.

Downloads

To download a DEMO version or to upgrade any installed version, download SARApAid version 5.12 (5.6M - SARAA512.EXE).

Note:  Due to a change to a different web host, the Update Wizard will not work on earlier versions as security parameters were changed.
